Formerly the home of Beans & Bagels till purchase in 2013 by a staff member, Spoken Cafe is a premier cafe located in Ravenswood right off the Montrose Brown Line stop serving breakfast and lunch with some Cajun respects (both of the owners are from Southern Louisiana) including locally roasted organic coffee and espresso beverages, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, local pastries and lunch fare all made with in house ingredients sourced locally and organically whenever possible. The Acadian Style Cheesy Grits cannot be skipped. Spoken Cafe also features an extensive retail line of preserved ingredients from the menu such as jams, pickles, ferments and sauces all made in house and a bright and helpful staff ready to answer any questions about food or coffee or neighborhood history!!
